Electives

The afternoons at Lote Tree are parent/volunteer led. We have a wide array of Islamic as well as recreational electives that keep students enthusiastically engaged in the second part of their day.

After lunch/recess, the students pray Dhuhr prayer together and collectively read a 10 minute spiritual remembrance (dhikr) from the prophetic invocations. After that an adult reads a short Islamic lesson (Shamail of the Prophet, story based on hadith, etc.) for students before they go to classes. This is a whole group time where we often discuss updates and news for the week.

Our elective program is designed to foster physical health, spiritual growth, creativity, and community service. Below is an overview of our weekly focus areas.
